چکیده

Abstract. The accurate simulation of heat transfer with phase change is a central problem in cryosphere studies. This because the non-linear behaviour enthalpy as function temperature can prevent thermal models snow, ice, and frozen soil from converging to correct solution. Existing numerical techniques rely on increased temporal resolution trying keep corresponding errors within acceptable bounds. Here, we propose an algorithm, originally applied solve water flow soils, method these integration issues guaranteed convergence conservation energy for any time step size. We review common modelling approaches, focusing fixed-grid soil. Based this, develop conservative formulation governing equation outline problems alternative formulations discretized form. Then, apply nested Newton–Casulli–Zanolli (NCZ) algorithm one-dimensional finite-volume discretization energy–enthalpy formulation. Model performance demonstrated against Neumann Lunardini analytical solutions by comparing results experiments steps 1 h, d, 10 d. Using our NCZ solver With this approach, be chosen match timescale processes investigated.

Heat Transfer Correlation for Two Phase Flow in a Mixing Tank

Mixing tanks equipped with mechanical stirrer are broadly applied in chemical and petrochemical industries, due to their variety of industrial process requirements. In this study, helical single blade mixer was designed applying CATIA and then mixing of fluid and solid particles, in a tank with this agitator was examined by OpenFOAM. For velocity distribution in the mixing tank, continuity, mom...

An iterative method for solving a complex heat transfer problem

Conductive-radiative heat transfer in a scattering and absorbing medium bounded by two reflecting and radiating plane surfaces is considered. A diffusion model for describing heat transfer is examined. The theorems of existence and uniqueness of a solution of this problem are proved. An iterative procedure for solving radiative-conductive heat transfer problem is proposed.

Residual Power Series Method for Solving Time-fractional Model of Vibration Equation of Large Membranes

The primary aim of this manuscript is to present the approximate analytical solutions of the time fractional order α (1<α≤2) Vibration Equation (VE) of large membranes with the use of an iterative technique namely Residual Power Series Method (RPSM). The fractional derivative is defined in the Caputo sense. Example problems have been solved to demonstrate the efficacy of the present method and ...
